Gifts in wills can be transformational for charities. Over the last 5 years, gifts in Wills
have made up 21.7% of our charitable income. David Hughes left a gift in his Will to
King’s and his legacy has funded many projects to revitalise hospital spaces, including:
The refurbishment of the day room on one of the Major Trauma wards at King’s
College Hospital. The day rooms provide a calm space where long-stay patients can
spend time with their families away from their bedside and hold sessions such as art
therapy bringing patients together.
End of life care to help make people spending their final days in hospital more
comfortable. David’s legacy helped us refurbish two rooms, turning them from
sterile clinical settings to warm, comforting rooms. We were also able to fund end
of life boxes containing home comforts such as essential oils, artificial flowers,
toiletries and radios.
Whether you include a percentage of your estate, or a specific cash amount,
